September 1 (Wednesday): Balkan folk dancing to recorded music at Ashkenaz, 1317 San Pablo Avenue, at Gilman, Berkeley at 8:00 P.M.

September 2 (Thursday): Edessa to play for listening and dancing at the Yerba Buena Gardens Festival, jessie Square Plaza, San Francisco at 6:00 P.M. Admission is free.

September 4 - 6 (Saturday - Monday): Belmont Greek Festival, Holy Cross Church, 900 Alemeda de Las Pulgas, at Ralston, Belmont from Noon to 10:00 P.M. Saturday and Sunday and Noon to 8:00 P.M. Monday. Music provided by Fotia. Admission is $5.00 General, $2.50 Seniors and Youth and children under 12 are free with parent. For more informaton call (650) 591-4447.

September 10 - 12 (Friday - Sunday): Santa Cruz Greek Festival, Prophet Elisa Orthodox Church, 223 Church Street, Santa Cruz. Music provided by the Spartans. Admission is free. For more information call (831) 429-6500.

September 10 (Friday): Culture at the Crossroads presents Rumen "Sali" Shopov BAlkanski Zvezdi, with Kalin Kirilov, Angel Gadzev, and Zhelyazko Georgiev, at the Croatian American Cultural Center, 60 Onondaga, at Alemany, San Francisco at 8:00 P.M. September 10 (Friday): Anthony Catchatoorian on Bouzouki and Paul Psarras on Guitar play Greek music for listening and dancing at the Tannourine Restaurant, 120 West 20th Avenue, San Mateo from 9:00 P.M. to Midnight. September 10 (Friday): Kopachka Folk Dancers start their new season with an "all request" night at Scout Hall, 177 East Blythdale Avenue, Mill Valley from 7:30 to 10:30 P.M. Admission is $5.00 and the first time is free. For more information contact nadavnut@gmail.com or susieshoaf@aol.com.

September 10 (Friday): Brass memazeri to play at the Rhythmix studio, 2315 Blanding, Alemeda at 9:00 P.M. Admission is $12.00 in advance and $15.00 at the door.

September 10 (Friday): The Stanford International Folk Dancers will not meet today due to Flex-it Aerobic Studio closing. They plan to meet at a new location soon (hopefully the 17th).

September 11 (Saturday): Janam to play at Fifth Street Farms, 1517 Fifth Street, between Cedar and Jones, upstairs, Berkeley with the doors opening at 7:00 P.M.and the music starts at 7:30 P.M. September 12 (Sunday): Bulgarian annual picnic, sponsored by SS Kiril and Metodi Church, the Bulgarian Eastern Orthodox Church in Danville, at Newhall Park, Concord at 1:00 P.M. Food will be provided, $10.00 for lunch, $3.00 for Alcoholic Drinks, $1.00 for non-alcholic drinks. Please feel free to bring food or drink to donate. There will be live Bulgarian Music for dancing. Donations to the church are encouraged.

September 16 (Thursday): play music for dancing at Ashnenaz, 1317 San Pablo Avenue, at Gilman, Berkeley with a lesson by Jerry Duke at 7:30 P.M. and the music starts at 8:30 P.M. Admission is $10.00.

September 17 - 19 (Friday - Sunday): Concord Greek Festival, St. Demetrios Church, Concord. Music provided by Fotia. Admission is $5.00 for adults, $3.00 for seniors and children under 12 are free. For more information call (925) 676-6967>

September 17 (Friday): The Croatian American Cultural Center present Cultur at the Crossroads featuring Lilla Seriegi at the Croatian American Cultural Center, 60 Onondaga, at Alemany, San Francisco at 8:00 P.M.

September 17 (Friday): Stanford Folk Dancers,, with Dan Isaacs teaching, will meet at their new regular event location, First Baptist Church, 305 North California Avenue, Palo Alto from 8:00 to 11:00 P.M. Admission is $6.00 for adults and $3.00 for seniors and students. Shoe restrictions remain. For more information contact Ginny Snyder.

September 25 (Saturday): Cafe Shalom Israeli Folk Dance party at St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, 1399 - 43rd Avenue, at Judah, San Francisco from 7:30 to 11:30 P.M. Admission is $8.00 for adults and $5.00 for students.

September 29 (Wednesday): Kabile Bulgarian Band to play music for dancing at Live Oak Grange Hall, 1900 - 17th Avenue, Santa Cruz at 7:30 P.M. Admission is $15.00 at the door and student and senior discounts are available. For more information contact Dena Bjornlie at (831) 458-1340.
