October 6 (Thursday): Ripni Kalinke present a Bulgarian dance workshop with Iliana Bozhanova and Todor Yankov at St. Francis Church, 1205 Pine Avenue, Willow Glen, San Jose at 7:00 P.M.

October 7 (Friday): The Stanford International Folk Dancers host a Balkan Dance Party with music by Da! Mozhem and the Nema Problema Chorale at the First Baptist Church, 305 N. October 7 (Friday): Diane Neesom will DJ Waltzes and Polkas Tom Hill and Amelia Thomas will teach beginning Waltz at First United Methodist Church, upstairs, Fellowship Hall, 625 Hamilton Avenue, Palo Alto from 7:00 P.M. to Midnight. Admission is $12.00 for both classes and the dance, $8.00 for the dance only and $8.00 for students. No partner necessary. All ages welcome. October 8 (Saturday): Janam Band with Shira Kammem and Peter Jaques play Balkan and Appalachian music for listening and dancing at Fifth Street Farms, 1517 Fifth Street, Berkeley at 7:30 P.M. October 8 (Saturday): Da! Mozhem to play for the El Cerrito Free Folk Festival at the El Cerrito High School, 540 Ashbury Avenue, Elcerrito from 6:00 to 7:00 P.M. Admission is free.

October 8 (Saturday): Inspector Gadje plays for Kafana Balkan along with Elizabeth Strong, Little Egypt and DJ Zeljko at the Rickshaw Stop, 155 Fell Street, at Van Ness, San Francisco from 9:00 P.M. to 1:00 A.M. Admission is $17.00 in advance and $20.00 at the door.

October 8 (Saturday): Peninsula Council Folk Dance Party with a pre-party workshop featuring two of Jaap Leegwater's dances: Sirto and Sitno Krajdunavsko Horo followed by a party MC'd by Yale and Marcia Rosenblatt at St. Bede's Church Hall, 2650 Sand Hill Road, Menlo Park with workshop at 7:15 P.M. and the party at 8:00 P.M.

October 9 (Sunday): North/South conference hosted by Movable Feet with Iliana Bozhanova and Todor Yankov presenting dances from Bulgaria at the First Baptist Church, 305 North California Avenue, Palo Alto with at reception and warm-up dances at 5:00 P.M., the workshop at 6:00 P.M. and a review and all-request party from 8:00 to 9:30 P.M. October 14 (Friday): Berkeley Balkan Bacchanal with music by Fanfare MWE, La Peche and Orchestra Euphonos at The Starry Plough, 3102 Shattuck Avenue, Berkeley at 9:00 P.M. Admission is $10.00 to $15.00 on a sliding scale at the door.

October 16 (Sunday): Brass Menazeri and Edessa play at Ashkenaz, 1317 San Pablo Avenue, at Gilman, Berkeley from 8:00 to 11:00 P.M. Admission is $20.00.

October 19 (Wednesday): Circle Dance celebration of Day of the Dead with Joan Rawles Davis teaching at St. John's Episcopal Church, Parish Hall, 530 C Street, Petaluma from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M.

October 21 (Friday): Kopachka Folk Dancers host a Bulgarian folk dance party with live music by Bulgarika at Strawberry Recreation Center, 118 East Strawberry Drive, Mill Valley from 8:00 to 11:00 P.M. October 29 (Saturday): Rumen Sali Shopov's Ensemble Merkalii plays Balkan and Romani dance tunes for the Cabrillo Folk Dancers at Live Oak Grange, 1900 - 17th Avenue, Santa Cruz from 8:00 to 11:00 P.M. October 29 (Saturday): Minoan Dancers 30th Anniversary Dinner-Dance at Nativity of Christ Greek Orthodox Churgh Fellowship Hall, 1110 Highland Drive, Novato with a no-host reception at 5:30 P.M. and dinner is at 7:00 P.M.
