October 1 (Friday): Kabile Bulgarian Wedding Band to play for the Stanford Folk Dancers, at their new special event venue, The American Legion, Los Altos Post 558, 347 First Street, Los Altos from 8:00 to 11:00 P.M. Admission is $15.00 amd $7.50 for students. Bring finger food or drink to share. For more information contact Ginny Snyder.

October 2 (Saturday): Kabile Bulgarian Wedding Band to play at Ashnenaz, 1317 San Pablo Avenue, at Gilman, Berkeley with a lesson by Tanya Kostova at 8:00 P.M. and the music starts at 9:00 P.M. Admission is $12.00 in advance or $15.00 at the door.

October 3 (Sunday): The United Greek Cypriots of Northern california celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Cyprus' independance starting at 10:00 A.M. with a Doxology at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 1260 Davis Street, San Jose and then going to the Hellenic Heritage Museum (San Jose History Park), 1260 Senter Road, San Jose at 1:00 P.M. for brunch and a commemorative program folowed by music for listening and dancing provided by Kymata.

October 3 (Sunday): The Kabile Bulgarian Band to play music for listening and dancing at the French Garden Restaurant and Bistro, 8050 Bodega Avenue, Sebastopol at 8:00 P.M. October 8 (Friday): Celebrate 40 years of dancing in Sonoma County with Marilyn Smith at the Santa Rosa Veteran's Building, 1351 Maple Avenue, Santa Rosa from 8:00 to 11:00 P.M. First, there will be dancing to recorded music, then Edessa will play live music for dancing. Admission is $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for High School students and children are free.

October 8 (Friday): Farima Berenji teaches dances of the Silk Road, sponsored by the Stanford International Folk Dancers, at St. Bede's Episcopal Church, 2650 Sand Hill Road, Menlo Park from 8:00 to 11:00 P.M. October 9 (Saturday): Arabic music dance party with Nazih Lattouf, Younes Nakvou and Luay Dahbour at the Tannourine Restaurant, 120 West 25th Avenue, San Mateo from 9:00 P.M. to 12:30 A.M. Dinner is $30.00 per person and includes mezza, entree and more.
