May 1 – 3 (Friday – Sunday): 13th Annual Herdeljiezi Festival, a traditional Romani neighborhood celebration benefiting the Voice of Roma at Veteran’s Hall/Ives Park/Hopmonk Tavern, Sebastopol from 4:00 P.M. Friday to 1:00 A.M. Sunday.

May 17 (Sunday):  Advanced Balkan Dance class in the back studio at Ashkenaz, 1317 San Pablo Avenue, at Gilman, Berkeley from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M.  Dan Unger will teach Kopatchka and Davida Munkres will teach Rekansko.
