May 6 (Friday): Fanfare Jambaleta Balkan Brass, The Fuxedos, and Martin Luther play music for listening and dancing at Brick and Mortar Music Hall, San Francisco at 9:00 P.M.

May 6 (Friday): Richard Powers and Angela Amarillas teach Tango Fascination and A Survey of Waltzes and Tom Hill will teach Introductory Waltz also, Richard Powers will DJ Waltzes and Polkas for the Friday Night Waltz group at First United Methodist Church, upstairs, Fellowship Hall, 625 Hamilton Avenue, Palo Alto from 7:00 P.M. to Midnight. May 13 (Friday): Berkeley Balkan Bacchanal with music by Balkalicious Fire Drive, Ghost Note Ensemble and Balkanton 340 at The Starry Plough, 3102 Shattuck Avenue, Berkeley at 9:00 P.M. Admission is $10.00 to $15.00 on a sliding scale at the door.

May 13 -15 (Friday - Sunday): Santa Cruz Greek Festival at Prophet Elias Greek Orthodox Church, 223 Church Street, at Center, Santa Cruz. Admission is Free.

May 14 (Saturday): Hungarian Tanchaz at the Croatian American Cultural Center, 60 Onondaga, at Alemany, San Francisco from 3:00 to 11:00 P.M. There will be a workshop by Laci Tihanyi, followed by a performance then a dance party. Admission is $10.00 for adults, $5.00 for youth 3 to 17 and children under five are free. Food and drink will be available.

May 14 (Saturday): Peninsula Folk Dance Council folk dance party at the First Baptist Church, 305 North California Street, Palo Alto with a pre-party workshop by Howard Young teaching to Lebanese Debki's from 7:00 to 7:45 P.M. and the party (MC'd by Loui Tucker) is from 7:45 to 10:00 P.M. Admission is $9.00.

May 19 (Thursday): Bulgarian dance workshop with Dr. Gergana Panova hosted by Ripni Kalinke at St. Francis Episcopal Church, 1205 Pine Avenue, San Jose at 7:00 P.M. Admission is $10.00 for adults, $5.00 for full time students and kids from 5 to 12 are free with parent entry.

May 19 (Thursday): Trio Balkan Strings perform at Amaranta House, Palo Alto at 8:00 P.M.

May 20 (Friday): Family night at Changs, 417-31st Avenue, San Francisco with kids' session from 7:00 ro 8:15 P.M. and traditional dancing for the family with requests and live music by Da! Mozhem from 8:15 to 10:30 P.M. Bring something for the potluck. Admission is $5.00 plus tips for the musicians.

May 20 - 23 (Friday - Monday): Antika Bulgaria Fest with Cratnitza from Sofia Bulgaria and La Peche from San Francisco at The Omni Commons, 4799 Shattuck Avenue, Berkeley on Friday at 7:30 P.M. Admission is $10.00 to $20.00 on a sliding scale. On Saturday will be the 16th Annual Sts. Kiril and Metodi Cultural Festival at the Croatian American Cultural Center 60 Onondaga, at Alemany, San Francisco from 2:00 to 11:00 P.M. Admission is $30.00 at the door and $5.00 for children 7 = 17 years old and children under 7 are free. Sunday will have the Bulgarian Folk Festival on Wheels and Big Bulgarian Horo thoughout the Bay Area from 11:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., with a dinner/concert/afterparty at a location to be announced at 7:30 P.M. On Monday, the Icon of Sts. Kiril and Metodi will be returned to the Holy Cross Monastery, 34700 Palomares, Castro Valley from 11:30 A.M. to 3:30 P.M. May 26 (Thursday): Inspector Gadje band to paly at the Esplanade, Yerba Buena Gardens, 773 Mission Street, San Francisco from 12:30 to 1:30 P.M. Admission is free.

May 27 - 29 (Friday - Sunday): "Food of the Gods - Fruit of the Vine", Marin Greek Festival at Nativity of Christ Greek Church, 1110 Highland Drive, Novato from 11:30 A.M. to 10:00 P.M. May 27 - 29 (Friday - Sunday): 2016 Statewide Folk Dance Festival with workshops by Erik Bendix and Maurits van Geel at the Veteran's Memorial Building, 1325 Portland Avenue, Albany. For more information click here.

May 27 - 29 (Friday - Sunday): Statewide After-Parties at the back studion of Ashkenaz, 1317 San Pablo Avenue, at Gilman, Berkeley starting about 20 minutes after Statewide closes. Admission is $5.00. For more information click or call Richard at (510) 524-3611.

May 27 (Friday): There will be no Friday Night Waltz this week only.

May 28 (Saturday): Dance party and Rememberance of Nez Erez with live music by Mosaic and Aza bands at Live Oak Grange Hall, 1900 - 17th Avenue, Santa Cruz from 7:00 to 10:30 P.M. Bring desserts or finger foods; coffee and cool drinks and Baklava will be provided. Admission is donations plus tips for the bands.
