May 2 (Friday): The Stanford International Folk Dancers host a dance party with the music of Sviraci at the First Baptist Church, 305 N. California Avenue, Palo Alto from 8:00 to 11:00 P.M. Admission is $10.00 and $5.00 for students. For more information contact Owen at (650) 966-1775.

May 2 (Friday): Nick and Melissa teach Royal Boston Waltz Mixer and Spanish Waltz Mixer and Tom Hill to teach introductory Waltz also Nick will dj waltzes and polkas for the Friday Night Waltz group at First United Methodist Church, upstairs, Fellowship Hall, 625 Hamilton Avenue, Palo Alto from 7:00 P.M. to Midnight. Admission is $12.00 for both classes and the dance, $8.00 for the dance only and $8.00 for students. No partner necessary. All ages welcome. May 9 (Friday): Kafana Balkan Gold Rush at Beatbox, 314 - 1th Street, San Francisco at 9:00 P.M. Lots of belly dancers followed by music for dancing by Petrovic Blasting Company (from Los Angeles) and DJ Zeljko. Admission is $25.00 in advance and $30.00 at the door.

May 9 (Friday): Tom Rigney's Zydeco band play sweet waltzs, polkas and zydeco for the Friday Night Waltz group at First United Methodist Church, upstairs, Fellowship Hall, 625 Hamilton Avenue, Palo Alto from 7:00 P.M. to Midnight. May 10 (Saturday): Eighth annual Magic of the Rhodope Mountains Evening presented by Antika Bulgaria and Friends at 19837 San Pablo Avenue, El Cerrito with a singing workshop by Maria Bebelekova and a dance workshop by Tanya Kostova from 5:30 to 7:30 P.M., a potluck dinner at 7:00 P.M. and concert and party with Tanya Kostova and Antika Bulgaria Folk Ensemble, Vasil and Maria Bebelekovi and Bill Cope and friends at 7:30 P.M. May 10 (Saturday): Danubius (12:30 to 1:00 P.M.) amongst others, to play for the Hungarian Heritage Festival at Twin Pines Park, 1225 Ralston Avenue, Belmont with the festival going from 11:30 A.M. to 9:00 P.M. Admission is $5.00 for adults, $2.00 for youth (6-17) and children under 6 are free.

May 10 (Saturday): Peninsula Folk Dance Party at St. Bede's Church, 2650 Sand Hill Road, Menlo Park with a Peninsula Council meeting from 7:00 to 7:30 P.M. and an all-request party djed by Adony Beniares and Ken Kay from 7:30 to 10:30 P.M. May 23 - 25 (Friday - Sunday): "Food of the Gods - Fruit of the Vine", Marin Greek Festival at Nativity of Christ Greek Church, 1110 Highland Drive, Novato from 11:30 A.M. to 10:00 P.M. Mozhem Band and Women"s Choral perform at Hillside Community Church, 1422 Navellier Street, El Cerrito with a potluck supper from 6:00 to 7:00 P.M. and dancing from 7:00 to 10:00 P.M.
