May 3 (Thursday): Brass Menazeri and the Balkalicious Fire Drive to play music for listeing and dancing at Valenciano, 1153 Valencia Street, San Francisco at 9:00 P.M. Admission is $10.00 ($5.00 before 9:30 P.M.).

May 4 & 5 (Friday & Saturday): 16th Annual Roma Festival "Herdeljizi" at Ives Park in Sebastopol.

May 4 (Friday): Bill Cope and the Mehanatones to play Balkan music for dancing for the Stanford International Folk Dancers at the First Baptist Church, Events Hall, 305 North California Street, Palo Alto from 8:00 to 11:00 P.M. May 6 (Sunday): Festival of the Silk Road, featuring dance workshops and live music by Da!mozem, amoungst other events and bands, at the Mexican Heritage Plaza Theatre, 1700 Alum Rock Road, San Jose from 3:00 to 9:30 P.M. Admission is $25.00 General, $18.00 Kids and Seniors and $35.00 VIP (includes preferred seating).

May 11 (Friday): Tanya Kostova hosts a Balkan dance party for the Stanford International Folk Dancers This event will be at St. Bede's Church Hall, 2650 Sand Hill Road, Menlo Park. from 8:00 to 11:00 P.M. May 12 (Saturday): Hungarian Festival at Belmont Twin Pines Park, 1125 Ralston Avenue, Belmont from 11:30 A.M. to 9:30 P.M. Admission is $5.00 for adults 18+, $3.00 for youth 6 - 17, and children under 6 are free. There will be food, wine, arts and crafts, dance performances and dancing to live music. Also a Chidren's teaching circle at 3:30 P.M. and a teaching circle for all ages from 6:00 to 9:30 P.M. For more information visit http://hungarianheritagefestival.com.

May 13 (Sunday): Agapi Mou to play at Papa's Taverna, 5688 Lakeville Highway, Petaluma from4:00 to 9:00 P.M.

May 16 (Wednesday): Sacred Circle Dance at St. John's Church, Petaluma from 7:00 to 8:45 P.M.

May 17 (Thursday): Berkeley Balkan Bacchanal featuring the music of Disiples of Markos, Agapi Mou, and Hot Blood Orkestar at The Starry Plough, 3101 Shattuck Avenue, Berkeley at 9:00 P.M. Admission is $8.00 to $12.00 on a sliding scale.

May 18 - 20 (Friday - Sunday): Statewide Dance Festival, with workshops by Steve Kotansky and Erica Goldman and music by Chubritza at Del Mar High School, San Jose.

May 18 - 20 (Friday - Sunday): Oakland Greek Festival,at the Greek Cathedral, 4700 Lincoln Avenue, Oakland. Admission is $6.00 with $1.00 off if you bring a can of food to donate to the Alameda Food Bank.

May 18 - 20 (Friday - Sunday): Santa Cruz Greek Food Fair at Prophet Elias Greek Orthodox Church, 223 Church Street, Santa Cruz.

May 18 (Friday): Kalia Kliban teaches the English Country Dance Newcastle for the Kopachka Folk Dancers, at Scout Hall, 177 East Blythdale Avenue, Mill Valley from 7:30 to 10:30 P.M. May 19 (Saturday): Serbian Kolo Festival with music by Orkestar Srma and a guest appearance from Toronto; the Academy of Serbian Folk Dancing led by Bata at St. John the Baptist Serbian Orthodox Cathedral, 900 Baker Street, San Francisco with Dinner and a program at 6:00 P.M. and Dancing to follow.
