May 1 (Sunday): Balkan jam session there will be sheet music for simple Balkan tunes. All instrumnets and voices welcome. Also, people are welcome to come and dance at Fandango Pizza, 313 Middlefield Road, Palo Alto from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. May 1 (Sunday): Detski Panair/Children's Faire, a family oriente multicultural event where kids, parents, and artists of Litearture, Music, Art and Dance meet and mix in a fun participatory event at the Croatian American Culural Center, 60 Onondaga, at Alemany, San Francisco from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. May 4 (Wednesday): Janam with special guests Sergei Skarupo and Natalia Ukrainska to play at Strings, 6320 San Pablo Avenue, Oakland at 8:00 P.M. Admission is $10.00.

May 8 (Sunday): Helene Eriksen to teach a women's dances of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia at the Halanda Studio in San Jose from 1:00 to 5:30 P.M.

May 11 (Wednesday): Balkan Folk Dance to recorded music 70's style at Ashkenaz, 1317 San Pablo Avenue, at Gilman, Berkeley with a lesson at 7:00 P.M. and the music starts at 8:00 P.M. Admission is $7.00 at the Door.

May 11 (Wednesday): Mosaik Vocal Ensemble concert in the home of Daniel Steinberg, Mountain View from 8:00 to 10:00 P.M. This is a small space, so reservations are required. For reservations and more information send email to Concerts@InstantHarmony.co or call (650) 947-9669.

May 20 (Friday): Brass Menazeri and others to play music for dancing at a benefit for the California Wolf Center at Ashkenaz, 1317 San Pablo Avenue, at Gilman, Berkeley at 8:00 P.M. Admission is $15.00 at the Door or in advance.

May 20 (Friday): Stanford Folk Dancers will be closed this week only due to a scheduling conflict. They will be open next week.

May 21 (Saturday): May folk dance party presented by Marcel and Kathy Vinokur at Burgess Recreation Center, 700 Alma Street, Menlo Park from 8:00 P.M. to Midnight. Admission is $9.00 for adults and $3.00 for teens. There will be a potluck at the home of Marcel and Kathy Vinokur at 6.00 P.M. May 22 (Sunday): True Live Trio debuts, singing to the harmonies and rhythms of Eastern Europe, the Americas and beyond at the Pineheaven Farm House Concerts in Monclair at 4:00 P.M. Admission is from $10.00 to $15.00. At 3:00 P.M. there will be a tour of the farm, then the performance followed by a pot-luck with appetizers and desserts. Feel free to bring something to share. May 25 (Wednesday): Petar Ratchev Quartet play music for dancing at Ashkenaz, 1317 San Pablo Avenue, at Gilman, Berkeley at 8:00 P.M. Admission is $15.00 at the Door.

May 27 (Friday): Petar Ralchev Quartet to play at the Subterranean Arthouse, 2179 Bancroft Way, Berkeley at 8:00 P.M. Admissiion is $15.00 to $25.00 but no-one is turned away for lack of funds. For more information contact Mike.

May 27 - 29 (Friday - Sunday): Marin Greek Festival with Kefi and Fotia to play at Nativity of Christ Church, 1110 Highland Drive, Novato. Admission is $6.00.

May 28 (Saturday): Eleventh Annual Saints Kiril and Methody Festival featuring the music of the Petar Ralchev Quartet,and other bands, for dancing at the Croatian American Cultural Center, 60 Onondaga, at Alemany, San Francisco from 2:00 to Midnight.
