March 1 (Friday): Stanford Folk Dancers sponsors a Balkan Dance with all music live by Da! Mozhem at Bethany Lutheran Church, 1095 Cloud Avenue, Menlo Park. Please use the parking lot behind the Churh off Ivy Avenue instead of parking on the street. Admission is $12.00 and students are halof Price and Children are Free. March 1 (Friday): Richard Powers will teach Beginners' Argentine Tango and Lucas and Claire will DJ waltz and polka dancing at First United Methodist Church, upstairs, Fellowship Hall, 625 Hamilton Avenue, Palo Alto with the classes starting at 7:15 P.M. and the dancing is from 9:00 P.M. to Midnight. Admission is $12.00 for both classes and the dance, $10.00 for the dance only and $10.00 for students. NOTE CHANGE IN PRICES AND TIME. No partner necessary. All ages welcome. March 2 - 5 (Saturday - Tuesday): Wrapping trees with Martenichki at 235 El Cerrito Plaza, El Cerrito from 2:30 P.M. on Saturday until 5:00 P.M. on Tuesday.

March 2 (Saturday): Anar Dana monthly cultural evening presenting girl's dances from Crihalma, in Sothern Transylvania at a private house in El Sobrante. Admission is $15.00. There will be a potluck. For more information, reservations and to find out the address send email to Rebecca.

March 3 (Sunday): Israeli Oldies Folk Dance Party, with dances led by Allen King, at Ashkenaz, 1317 San Pablo Avenue, Berkeley from 1:30 to 5:30 P.M. Admission is $18.00 and all under 18 are free. For more information contact Allen King.

March 3 (Sunday): Baba marta with Martenichik and Antiki hosted by Tanya Kostova at Codornices Park (across from Rose Garden), 1201 Euclid Avenue, El Cerrito at 2:30 P.M.

March 9 (Saturday): Peninsula Folk Dance Council hosts a folk dance party and a review of Grad Se Beli, at St. Bede's Church, 2650 Sand Hill Road, Menlo Park with the review from 7:15 to 7:30 P.M. and the all request party from 7:30 to 10:30 P.M. Admission is $10.00. For more information, and to send in your requests contact Becky Beniare, who, along with Nancy Kaye, will be your emcees.

March 9 (Saturday): Café Shalom meets for Israeli dancing at St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church, 1399 – 43rd Avenue, at Judah, San Francisco from 7:30 to 11:30 P.M.  Admission is $8.00 for adults and $5.00 for students. For more information contact rofromsf@gmail.com.

March 10 (Sunday): Dance to Balkan and Carpathian music by the Het Hat Club at Park Hall, 9400 Mill Street, Ben Lomond at 7:30 P.M. Admission is $15.00 plus tips. Bring snacks to share. For more information contact Judy Donaldson.

March 17 (Sunday): Simorgh Dance Community Spring Celebration and Fundraiser with a Georgian Dance Workshop, Georgian dance performances, a dance party and the Silk Road Bazaar at the Center for Creative Living, 1460 Koll Circle, Suite C, San Jose from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. March 21 (Thursday): Mandala Folk Dance Center hosts a Vernal Equinox celebration and dance, with live music by Staro Vino at St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, Bowcock Hall, 1399 - 43rd Avenue, at Judah Street, San Francisco from 7:30 to 10:30 P.M. March 22 (Friday): Berkeley Balkan Bacchanal with music by Greg Jenkins, Fanfare Zambaleta and Balkanton 340 at The Starry Plough, 3102 Shattuck Avenue, Berkeley at 9:00 P.M. Admission is $10.00 to $15.00 on a sliding scale at the door.

March 22 (Friday): Kopachka Folk Dancers host a dance workshop with Sue Williard teaching Zensko Camce, Malesevsko and Narino at Strawberry Recreation Center, 118 East Strawberry Drive, Mill Valley with the workshop from 7:30 to 8:30 P.M. and dancing from 8:30 to 10:30 P.M. Admission is $7.00 and first time dancers are free. For more information contact Susie Shoaf.

March 22 (Friday): Third Annual Disney Night with dances taught by Peggy Pollard such as the Rhumba from the Lion King and the Waltz from Sleeping Beauty and Jason Anderson will DJ waltz and polka dancing at First United Methodist Church, upstairs, Fellowship Hall, 625 Hamilton Avenue, Palo Alto with the classes starting at 7:15 P.M. and the dancing is from 9:00 P.M. to Midnight. March 23 (Saturday): The Razzmatazz Red and Black Ball with live music by Gradina Balkan choral and music group, as well as recorded music at Monroe Hall, 1400 West College Avenue, Santa Rosa from 7:00 to 10:00 P.M. Admission is $5.00 for adults and children are free plus tips for the musicians and singers. Bring snacks to share and wear red and black. For more information contact Marilyn Smith.

March 23 (Saturday): Movable Feet hosts a "Just Baskets" (dances with basket holds) folk dance party with a workshop by Dan Unger teaching Braul Lui Zbarcea and Sandra Biroc with teach Oj Rasticu, followed by dancing at All Saints' Episcopal Church, 555 Waverly Street, Palo Alto with the workshop from 7:00 to 8:00 P.M. and the dance party from 8:00 to 11:00 P.M. March 23 (Saturday): Kafana Balkan 12 year anniversary party, with music by Inspector Gadje Balkan Brass Band and Ismail Lumanovski, belly dancing by Jill Parker and Little Egypt and DJ Zeljko at The Rickshaw Stop, 155 Fell Street, San Francisco at 10:00 P.M. Admission is $18.00 in advance and $20.00 at the door.
