March 2 (Thursdays): Start of a new Israeli folk dance class session, taught by Carol Friedman, at Osher Jewish Community Center, Pilates Studio, second floor, 200 North Pedro Road, San Rafael from 1:30 to 4:00 P.M. March 3 (Friday): The Stanford International Folk Dancers host an evening of live French music by Gary Brritbard, Jena Rauti and Fet Musette at the First Baptist Church, 305 N. March 3 (Friday): The East Bay Folk Dancers host an all-request folk dance party at the Piedmont Veteran's Hall, 401 Highland Avenue, Piedmont from 7:30 to 10:30 P.M. Admission is $7.00 and first time is free. For more information contact Kay James.

March 4 (Saturday): Inspector Gadje with Ismail Lumanovski perform in a CD release concert and 10 year anniversary of Kafana Balkan at the Rickshaw Stop, 155 Fell Street, at Van Ness, San Francisco at 9:00 P.M.

March 5 (Sunday): Janam Band plays for a benefit "Songs without Borders" for National Immigration Law Center at The Monkey House, 1638 University Avenue, near Sacramento, Berkeley at 7:00 P.M. March 9 - 12 (Thursday - Sunday): Goran Bregovic and His Wedding and Funeral Orchestra perform at the SFJAZZ Center in San Francisco at 7:30 P.M. on Thursday and Friday, 7:00 and 9:30 P.M. on Saturday and 3:00 P.M. on Sunday. For more information and tickets click here.

March 13 (Monday): Live music by the Yale Women's Slavic Chorus for listening and dancing also with dancing to recorded favorites at Hermann Sons Hall, 860 Western Avenue, Petaluma from 7:00 to 9:15 P.M. March 23 (Thursday): Jaap Leegwater teaches a Bulgarian dance workshop at The Mandala Folk Dance Center, St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, Bowcock Hall, 1399 - 43rd Avenue, at Judah Street, San Francisco from 7:30 to 10:30 P.M. March 25 (Saturday): The Cabrillo Folk Dancers host Malkanton 340, with Dena Bjornlie and Hector Becanis, to play Balkan dance music at Live Oak Grange, Santa Cruz at 8:00 P.M. March 25 (Saturday): The Advanced Balkan Dancers present a Balkan Plus Folk Dance Party at the Unitarian Universalist Congregational Church, 240 Channing Street, San Rafael at 7:30 P.M. Admission is $10.00.
