March 4 (Friday): Kuan-Hsien teaches Introductory Salsa and Introductory Merengue and Tom Hill will teach Introductory Waltz also, Anthony will DJ Waltzes and Polkas for the Friday Night Waltz group at First United Methodist Church, upstairs, Fellowship Hall, 625 Hamilton Avenue, Palo Alto from 7:00 P.M. to Midnight. Admission is $12.00 for both classes and the dance, $8.00 for the dance only and $8.00 for students. No partner necessary. All ages welcome. March 5 (Thursday): Moveable Feet Club presents "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" party with Laura Douglas teaching Dobrudzanska Reka and Melissa Miller teaching Sepastia Bar at First United Methodist Church, 625 Hamjilton Avenue, Palo Alto from 7:00 to 11:00 P.M. March 6 (Friday): The Stanford International Folk Dancers host Staro Vino playing live Balkan dances at the First Baptist Church, 305 N. California Avenue, Palo Alto from 8:00 to 11:00 P.M. March 9 (Wednesday): Hot Blood Orkestar plays music for listening and dancing at El Rio Bar, San Francisco at 8:30 P.M. This is a first of a series of second Wednesday apparences of this band at El Rio.

March 10 - 13 (Thursday - Sunday): National Folk Organization's annual conference at the mariani Inn in Santa Clara. In addition to other activites there will be dancing on Thursday night with Loui Tucker's group and in Menlo Park at the Pennisula Council party on Saturday. For more information visit the NFO site.

March 11 (Friday): The Stanford International Folk Dancers host Kaela Fine teaching international folk dances at the First Baptist Church, 305 N. California Avenue, Palo Alto from 8:00 to 11:00 P.M. March 11 (Friday): Berkeley Balkan Bacchanal with music by Radio Istanbul, Rumen Shopov and Meraklu and Disciples of Markos at The Starry Plough, 3102 Shattuck Avenue, Berkeley at 9:00 P.M. Admission is $10.00 to $15.00 on a sliding scale at the door.

March 11 (Friday): Taraf De Akacfa band from Budapest and locan band Danubius play Transylvanian, Hungarian, Romanian and Balkan music for listening and dancing at Pena Pacha Mama, 1630 Powell Street, between Union and Green, San Francisco with a dinner show at 7:00 P.M. and a show for dancing at 9:00 P.M. March 12 (Saturday): Special Israeli dance Oldies Party with Dale Alpert teaching old Israeli Dances at Congregation Etz Chayim, 4161 Alma Street, Palo Alto from 8:30 to Midnight. Admission is $10.00 general and students are free.

March 12 (Saturday): National Folk Organization Annual Conference with Workshops by Elsie Dunin (Gypsy Dance) from 2:30 P.M. to 3:45 P.M. and Richard Powers (teaching couple dances "quick teach dances") from 4:00 to 5:00 P.M. followed by the Peninsula Folk Dance Council monthly workshop with Bruce Hamilton (English Country Dances) from 7:15 to 8:00 P.M. After the workshops, there will be an All-request International Dance party MC'd by Denise Heenan at St. Bede's Episcopal Church, 2650 Sand Hill Road, Menlo Park. Admission is $15.00 for the workshops and $9.00 for the party.

March 13 (Sunday): Gari Hegedus, and others, play Turkish, Arabic and Greek music for dancing and listening at Red Poppy Art House, 2698 Folsom Street, San Francisco from 7:30 to 10:00 P.M.
