March 1 (Friday): Richard Powers and Angela Amarillas will teach Frankie's Shim Sham and Viennese Waltz Variations and Tom Hill to teach introductory Waltz also Richard will dj waltzes and polkas for the Friday Night Waltz group at First United Methodist Church, upstairs, Fellowship Hall, 625 Hamilton Avenue, Palo Alto from 7:00 P.M. to Midnight. Admission is $12.00 for both classes and the dance, $8.00 for the dance only and $8.00 for students. No partner necessary. All ages welcome. March 1 (Friday): Stanford International Dancers host a folk dance party with live music provided by Bill Cope and friends at the First Baptist Church, Event Hall, 305 N. California Avenue, Palo Alto from 8:00 to 11:00 P.M. Admission is $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for Students. Children are free. Bring a snack to share. March 2 (Saturday): Celebrate the Bulgarian National Holiday (actually March 3) at Danville Grange 85, 743 Diablo Road, Danville from 7:00 P.M. on. Admission is $5.00. Music provided by Ripni Kalinke from San Jose and Svetoslav Dimitrov. There will be Bulgarian food for sale. This is a benefit for rebuilding a house in Martinez for the Ss Kiril and Metodi Bulgarian Church in Danville. For more information visit the Church website.

March 3 (Sunday): Celebrate the Bulgarian National Holiday and Baba Marta with Antika Bulgaria and Martenichki at Arlington Community Church, 52 Arlington Avenue, Kensington from 4:00 to 9:00 P.M. March 6 (Wednesday): Balkan Folk Dance to recorded music 70's style at at Ashkenaz, 1317 San Pablo Avenue, at Gilman, Berkeley with a lesson at 7:00 P.M. and the music starts at 8:00 P.M. Admission is $7.00 at the Door.

March 8 - 10 (Friday - Sunday): Kitka Women's Vocal Ensemble presents their new program "New Folksongs From Within" featuring the world premieres by Janet Kutulas and Elizabeth Setzer at the Piedmont Piano Company, 1728 San Pablo Avenue, Oakland at 8:00 P.M. March 10 (Sunday): A celebration of Children's dance assemblies for their communities at Croatian American Cultural Center, 60 Onondaga, at Alemany, San Francisco from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M.

March 11 (Monday): The Oakland Freedom Jazz Society present Vytal Theory and Fanfare Zambaleta (Balkan brass band) at The Layover, 1517 Franklin Street, Oakland from 8:00 to 11:00 P.M. There is no cover charge.

March 13 (Wednesday): Balkan Allstars: Edessa, Agapi mou, Black Sea Surf, Trio Zulum, and Zabava! to perform at Ashkenaz, 1317 San Pablo Avenue, at Gilman, Berkeley with the dooors opening at 7:30 P.M. and the music starts at 8:00 P.M. Admission is $12.00. For more information call (510) 525-5054.

March 14 (Thursday): Fishtank Ensemble and MWE to play Balkan and Turkish music for listening and dancing and bellydancers to perform at Cafe du Nord, 2174 Market Street, San Francisco.at 8:30 P.M. Admission is$10.00 in advance and $12.00 at the door. You must be 21 or over.

March 15 (Friday): Nick and Danielle will teach Latin Waltz and Tango and Anthony will dj waltzes and polkas for the Friday Night Waltz group at First United Methodist Church, upstairs, Fellowship Hall, 625 Hamilton Avenue, Palo Alto from 7:00 P.M. to Midnight. March 22 (Friday): Dance ethnologist, Helene Eriksen, presents a potluck dinner and a look at films, photos, and costumes and listen to music and discuss dance history, ethnography and politics of Kurdish dance at a private home in Campbell from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. March 30 (Saturday): Emily Jarrett Hughes teaches a Circle Dance workshop at St Hohn's Episcopal Church, Parish Hall, Petaluma from 10:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.
