March 1 - 31: Time to sign up for Folk Dance on the Water's Danube River cruise, with dancing led by Lee Otterholt, starting June and an India tour and river cruise from September 5 to 19. For more information contact Mel Mann at (510) 527-2177.

March 2 (Friday): Sviraci play live music for dancing for the Stanford International Folk Dancers at the First Baptist Church, Event Hall, 305 N. California Avenue, Palo Alto from 8:00 to 11:00 P.M. Admission is $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for students. Children are free.

March 3 (Saturday): Bulgarian Party at Noble, 600 Polk Street, at Turk, San Francisco from 9:00 P.M. to 2:00 A. M. Admission is $10.00 in advance ro $20.00 at the door. You must be 21 or older. the DJ will be Hassey D. For more information contact Orlin at (415) 425-3877.

March 3 (Saturday): Bulgarian Gala presented by Tanya Kostova and Antika Bulgaria at Arlington Community Church, 52 Arlington Avenue, Kensington from 4:00 to 10:30 P.M. Admission is $15.00 at the door. Kids are free. There will be a show, followed by a Bulgarian Dinner (food, wine, beverages and goodies will be available). March 3 (Saturday): Celebrate the Bulgarian National Holiday with music by Ripni kalinke, Vechna Miadost and Svetoslav Drimitrov at Danville Grange hall 85, 743 Diablo Road, Danville at 7:00 P.M.

March 4 (Sunday): Children's Celebration of Ethnic Dance at Croatian American Cultural Center, 60 Onondaga, at Alemany, San Francisco at 2:00 P.M.

March 9 (Friday): Red and Black Ball folk dance party with dancing to recorded favorites at the Santa Roas Veteran's Memorial Building, Lodge Room, 1351 Mapel Avenue, Santa Rosa from 8:00 to 11:00 P.M. March 10 (Saturday): Janam Band and Nice Guy Trio play Klezmer, Balkan and Appalachian music for listening and dancing at Viracocha, 998 Valencia Street, San Francisco from 8:30 to 11:30 P.M. Admission is $10.00 to $15.00 on a sliding scale.

March 11 (Sunday): Hasmik Harutyunyan to teach an Armenian family and village dance workshop for the Petaluma Snapy Dancers and the Armenians of the North Bay at Congragation Ner Shalom hall, 85 La Plaza, behind the Firehouse/Old Rewood Highway, Cotati from 2:30 to 4:30 P.M. March 14 (Wednesday): Nada Lewis and Jon Schreiber play at http://www.lebateauivre.net">Le Bateau Ivre, 2629 Telegraph Avenue, Berkeley with dinner beginning at 5:00 P.M. and the performance from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. There is no cover charge.

March 15 (Thursday): The Helladelics and the Discipels of Markos plus The Red HotChachkas participate in the Berkeley Balkan Bachhanal at The Starry Plough, 3101 Shattuck Avenue, Berkeley from 9:00 P.M. to Midnight. Admission is $6.00 to $12.00 on a sliding scale.

March 15 (Thursday): Judith Brin Ingber presents "Seeing Israeli and Jewish Dance" at JBE Jewish Comunity Library, 1835 Ellis Street, between Scott and Pierce, San Francisco at 7:00 P.M. Admission is free. For more information contact Allison at (415) 567-3327.

March 17 (Saturday): Kitka and the St. Vartan Cultural Committee present a traditional Armenian Dance and Song workshop with Hasmik Harutyunyan at St Vartan Armenian Apostolic Church, 650 Spruce Street, Oakland from 3:00 to 6:00 P.M. Admission is $30.00 general, $25 for seniors, students and those with low income and $15.00 for members of the St Vartan Community. Kids are free. March 18 (Sunday): Advanced Balkan Folk Dance class at Ashkenaz, back studio, 1317 San Pablo Avenue, at Gilman, Berkeley at 2:00 P.M. Martin Frost will be reviewing Razvrastanata, Kazanlasko Mazko Horo and Tetovsko. Admission is $5.00 at the Door.

March 19 (Monday): Greek dance party fearuring the music of Agapi Mou, hosted by GreekFeet, at the Presidio Performing Arts Center, Arguello at Moraga, Presidio of San Francisco from 8:00 to 10:30 P.M.
