January 3 (Friday): Richard Powers will teach Cross Step Waltz and he will DJ waltz and polka dancing at First United Methodist Church, upstairs, Fellowship Hall, 625 Hamilton Avenue, Palo Alto with the classes starting at 7:15 P.M. and the dancing is from 9:00 P.M. to Midnight. Admission is $20.00 for both classes and the dance, $20.00 for the dance only and $10.00 for students. Evening attire appreciated. No partner necessary. All ages welcome. January 3 (Friday): The Stanford Folk Dancers host an International dance party with music by Da! Mozhem band at Bethany Lutheran Church, Menlo Park from 7:30 to 10:00 P.M. Admission is $12.00 and $6.00 for students.

January 7 (Tuesday): Social dance lessons by Richard Powers and Rocky Aikens, a six week series of partnered social dance classes at First United Methodist Church, upstairs, Fellowship Hall, 625 Hamilton Avenue, Palo Alto with the classes starting at 7:15 P.M. and the dancing is from 9:00 P.M. to Midnight. January 10 (Friday): Berkeley Balkan Bacchanal with music by Zabava, N&G Band and The Feldthouse Family Band at The Starry Plough, 3102 Shattuck Avenue, Berkeley at 9:00 P.M. Admission is $10.00 to $15.00 on a sliding scale at the door.

January 11 (Saturday): Janam Band plays Songs for a Winter Night for listening and dancing at Red Poppy Art House, 2698 Folsom Street, at 23rd Street, San Francisco at 7:30 P.M. Admission is $25.00 general and $20.00 for students and seniors.

January 11 (Saturday): Persian dance concert featuring the 12th century epic poem Conference of the Birds set to music and dance at the Menlo-Atherton Performing Arts Center, 555 Middlefield Rd, Atherton from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. Admission is $35.00 in advance or $40.00 at the door.

January 11 (Saturday): Cafe Shalom meets for Israeli dancing at St. Paul�s Presbyterian Church, 1399 � 43rd Avenue, at Judah, San Francisco from 7:30 to 11:30 P.M.Admission is $8.00 for adults and $5.00 for students.For more information contact rofromsf@gmail.com.

January 12 (Sunday): Sacred Circle Dancing at Hillside Church, 1422 Navellier Street, El Cerrito with a potluck at 6:30 and dancing from 7:30 to 9:30 P.M. Admission is $5.00 to $10:00 on a Sliding scale. For more information contact Maureen Atkins.

January 18 (Saturday): Jubilee Klezmer Ensemble play Klezmer music for listening and dancing at Northwest Santa Rosa Library 150 Coddingtown Center, Santa Rosa from 2:00 to 3:00 P.M. Admission is free.

January 24 (Friday): Folk Dance Party at Kopachka Folk Dancers, with Zabava International at Strawberry Recreation Center, 118 E. Strawberry Drive, Mill Valley from 8:00 to 10:30 P.M. Admission is $15.00. For more information click or call 415-497-4890.

January 26 (Sunday): The Peninsula Folk Dance Team host the Second Annual Tea and Dance Party at St. Bede's Church, 2650 Sand Hill Road, Menlo Park from 2:45 to 6:00 P.M.
