January 12 (Friday): Kopachka Folk Dancers host a Balkan Folk Dance Party with music by Da! Mozhem Strawberry Recreation Center, 118 E. Strawberry Drive, Mill Valley from 8:00 to 11:00 P.M. Admission is $10.00 (includes light refreshments) and students are half price and children are free. For more information contact Susie or call Nadav at (415) 497-4890.

January 12 (Friday): Berkeley Balkan Bacchanal with music by Michelle Alnay and the Levona and Chubritza at The Starry Plough, 3102 Shattuck Avenue, Berkeley at 9:00 P.M. Admission is $10.00 to $20.00 on a sliding scale at the door.

January 12 (Friday): Jordan and Sharon will teach Introductory Cross Step Waltz and they will DJ waltz and polka dancing at First United Methodist Church, upstairs, Fellowship Hall, 625 Hamilton Avenue, Palo Alto with the classes starting at 7:15 P.M. and the dancing is from 9:00 P.M. to Midnight. Admission is $12.00 for both classes and the dance, $10.00 for the dance only and $10.00 for students. NOTE CHANGE IN PRICES AND TIME. No partner necessary. All ages welcome. January 14 (Sunday): Jubilee Klezmer Ensemble plays Klezmer music for listening and dancing at Occidental Center for the Arts, 3850 Doris Murphy Court, Occidental at 3:00 P.M. January 16 (Tuesday): Couple Dancing, a six-week series of lessons in social dancing taught by Richard Powers and Mirage Marrou Greene begin today with teaching of Introductory Tango, mastering the Viennese Ball Dances and the Lindy Hop at First United Methodist Church, Palo Alto. Cost fpr the series is $35.00 for students; non-students , faculty, alums, and Silicon valley Friends it is $50.00. For more information click here.

January 17 (Wednesday): Saya Nvaq Ensemble play Armenian music for listening and dancing at Le Bateau Ivre, 2629 Telegraph Avenue, Berkeley from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. There is no cover charge, but tips are appreciated. For more information call (925) 946-1515.

January 19 (Friday): Janam Band with Greg Masaki Jenkins, play Southern Balkan and American music for listening and dancing at Studio Grand, 3234 Grand Avenue, Oakland at 9:30 P.M. Admission is $7.00/15.00 on a sliding scale. For more information contact Juliana Graffagna.

January 27 (Saturday): Dabava! plays for the Cabrillo Folk Dancers at Live Oak Grange, Santa Cruz. For more informatin contact Judy Donaldson.

January 28 (Sunday): Live music by Zabava! and a dance lesson by Nadav Nur and Jerry Duke at Ashkenaz, 1317 San Pablo Avenue, at Gilman, Berkeley with the dance lesson at 7:30 and the music starts at 8:00 P.M. Admission is $12.00.

January 28 (Sunday): Maurits and Tikeke van Geel teach an Armenian, Roma and other dance workshop for the Movable Feet Dance Club at All Saints Episcopal Church, Palo Alto from 7:00 to 11:00 P.M. Admission is free. For more information contact Lucy Chang.
