January 2 (Monday): International Folk Dance class begins at Herman Sons Hall, 860 Western Avenue, Petaluma from 7:00 to 9:15 P.M. and goes through May first. Cost for the series is $65.00 or $7.00 Drop-in. For more information contact Carol Friedman.

January 6 (Friday): Introductory Waltz and Tenaya and Talia will DJ Waltzes and Polkas at First United Methodist Church, upstairs, Fellowship Hall, 625 Hamilton Avenue, Palo Alto from 7:00 P.M. to Midnight. Admission is $12.00 for both classes and the dance, $8.00 for the dance only and $8.00 for students. No partner necessary. All ages welcome. January 8 (Sunday): Sacred Circle Dancing to live music by Da! Mozhem at Hillside Community Church, 1422 Vavellier Street, near Potrero, El Cerrito from 7:30 to 10:00 P.M. Potluck from 6:30 to 7:30 P.M. Admission is $5.00 to $10.00. For more information contact Maureen Atkins.

January 13 (Friday): Berkeley Balkan Bacchanal with music by Via Romen Duo, Aya and Tano, and Alex Hand Band at The Starry Plough, 3102 Shattuck Avenue, Berkeley at 9:00 P.M. Admission is $10.00 to $20.00 on a sliding scale at the door.

January 14 (Saturday): Café Shalom meets for Israeli dancing at St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church, 1399 – 43rd Avenue, at Judah, San Francisco from 7:30 to 11:30 P.M.  Admission is $8.00 for adults and $5.00 for students.  For more information contact rofromsf@gmail.com.

January 14 (Saturday): Heritage Festival 2017 workshop with Roberto Bagnoli from 1:30 to 4:30 P.M. followed by a party at Twin Pine's Community Center, 20 Twin Pines Lane, Belmont at 7:00 P.M. Admission for the workshop and party are $15.00 each. Under 18 are free. For more information click here.

January 20 (Friday): Kopachka Folk Dancers host a Balkan and French dance workshop at Strawberry Recreation Center, 118 East Strawberry Drive, Mill Valley with teaching from 7:30 to 8:30 P.M. dancing from 8:30 to 10:30 P.M. January 27 (Friday): Richard Powers will teach Sweetheart Waltz Variations and Movie Waltzing, it will also be a movie teme night and Richard Powers will DJ Waltzes and Polkas at First United Methodist Church, upstairs, Fellowship Hall, 625 Hamilton Avenue, Palo Alto from 7:00 P.M. to Midnight. January 28 (Saturday): Cabrillo Folk Dancers host a dance party with music by Zabava! at Live Oak Grange, Soquel at 8:00 P.M. Admission is $15.00 plus tips for the band.

January 28 (Saturday): Foothill Community Concert Series present True Life Trio at Foothill Presbyterian Church, 5301 McKee Road, San Jose at 7:00 P.M. Admission is $15.00 and children under 12 are free.
