January 7 (Friday): Agapi Mou play Greek, Armenian, Albanian and Turkish music for dancing for the Stanford International Folk Dancers at the First Baptist Church, 305 North California Avenue, near Bryant, Palo Alto from 8:00 to 11:00 P.M. January 14 & 15 (Friday & Saturday): Heritage Dance Festival at the Community United Church opf Christ, 1336 Arroyo Avenue, at Elm Street, San Carlos with Da! Mozem performing from 7:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Saturday.

January 14 (Friday): Marilyn Smith to teach Bourree Bourbonnaise for the Kopatchka Folk Dancers, at Scout Hall, 177 E. Blithedale Avenue, Mill Valley at 8:00 P.M. There will also be beginner's teaching of Aj Lipo TiJe by Toni Denmark from 7:30 to 8:00 P.M. and following Marilyn's teaching, there will be dancing to a dance program and requests from 8:30 to 10:30 P.M. January 16 (Sunday): Advanced Balkan dance class with Davida Munkres reviewing Cekurjankino, Sopsko Petrunino, Cerkesko Horo and Glavinika Kopanica and others at Ashkenaz, Back Studio, 1317 San Pablo Avnue, at Gilman, Berkeley from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. January 20 (Thursday): Disciples of Markos play Rebetika and the Helladeics play Greek folk music for a Greek night at Ashkenaz, 1317 San Pablo Avenue, Berkeley with a dance lesson by Jerry Duke at 7:30 P.M. and the music starts at 8:30 P.M. Admission is $10.00.

January 21 (Friday): Waxing Cinematic: An evening of Dream-like music, dance and shadow theatre with live Balkan-Romani music by the Dan Cantrell Ensemble and Orkestar Sali for listening and dancing at The Hillside Club, 2286 Dedar Street, Berkeley from 8:00 to 10:00 P.M. January 21 (Friday): Judy Robinson will teach Kirmizi Biber from Turkey and an Armenian dance at the Albany YMCA, 921 Kains Street, near Solano and San Pablo Avenue, Albany with teaching from 8:00 to 9:00 P.M. and request dancing until 11:00 P.M. For more informatin contact Gary Anderson.

January 28 (Friday): Milla Milojkovic and Kitka sing and the Chicago Tamburasi play music for a Cultural Crossroads event at the Croatian American Cultural Center, 60 Onondaga, at Alemany, San Francisco at 8:00 P.M. Admission is $15.00 in advance and $18.00 at the door. Children are free. Ethnic food will be served at 7:30 P.M. and there will be dancing after the concert. January 28 (Friday): Trio Zulum and Maria perform Bulgarian dance music for the Cabrillo Folk Dancers at Cabrillo College, Gym building dance studio, room 1117, Aptos at 7:30 P.M. January 29 (Saturday): An Evening of Music from the Mediterranean with Janam and Teslim at the The Dance Palace, 503 B Street, Point Reyes Station with a free dance lesson by Carol Friedman at 7:15 P.M. and the show starting at 8:00 P.M. January 29 (Saturday): Israeli Folk Dance party, by Cafe Shalom, at St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, Bowcock Hall, 1399 - 43rd Avenue, at Judah, San Francisco from 7:30 to 11:30 P.M. Admission is $8.00 for adults and $5.00 for students.

January 30 (Sunday): Mike and his new Klezmer band to perform, with Bruce Bierman leading the dances, for the Hungry for Yiddish benefit for the San Francisco Food Bank at the East Bay JCC, 1414 Walnut Street, Berkeley from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. January 30 (Sunday): 2011 Sveti Vlaho Festa with John Morovich from Seattle at the Nativity Parish Hall, 240 Fell Street, between Gough and Franklin Streets, San Francisco with Mass, followed by blessing of throats, at 9:30 A.M., lunch at 11:00 A.M., and the program starts at Noon. Admission only is $5.00 for adults, and children under 18 are free; admission with lunch is $20.00 for adults, $5.00 for youth 13 - 18, and children under 13 are free. Dessert donations are welcome.
