February 13 (Friday): Join in an ancient ritual celebration of the honeybee with songs and dances from Bulgaria with live music provided by Karen Guggenheim, Jana Mariposa and the Melissae Ensemble at the Open Secret Bookstore, 923 “C” Street, San Rafael at 7:30 P.M.  An $8.00 donation is requested to benefit the Foundation for the Preservation of Honeybees.  For more information visit call (415) 456-2799.

February 21 (Saturday): Annual Festival of the Oaks at Live Oak Park, 1301 Shattuck, at Berryman, Berkeley from 9:30 A.M. to 5:30 P.M.  This event is sponsored by the Berkeley Folk Dancers.  From 9:30 A.M. to Noon, there will be an institute by Lee Otterholt.  From Noon to 1:30 P.M. there will be a homemade hot lunch and a Folk Dance Federation membership meeting.  From 1:30 P.M. to 5:30 P.M. there will be a Federation dance program in the main hall and all-request dancing in an adjacent hall.  Folk dance costumes will be for sale and there will be exhibition entertainment and free refreshments all afternoon.
