February 1 (Friday): Stanford Folk Dancers sponsors a Balkan Dance with all music live by Zabava! at Bethany Lutheran Church, 1095 Cloud Avenue, Menlo Park. Please use the parking lot behind the Churh off Ivy Avenue instead of parking on the street. Admission is $12.00 and students are halof Price and Children are Free. February 1 (Friday): Jim and Melody will teach Introductory Wiennese Waltz and Anthony will DJ waltz and polka dancing at First United Methodist Church, upstairs, Fellowship Hall, 625 Hamilton Avenue, Palo Alto with the classes starting at 7:15 P.M. and the dancing is from 9:00 P.M. to Midnight. Admission is $12.00 for both classes and the dance, $10.00 for the dance only and $10.00 for students. NOTE CHANGE IN PRICES AND TIME. No partner necessary. All ages welcome. February 4 (Monday): GreekFeet host a Cretan Glendi with live music by Manolis Skoutelis and Spyros Skouradakis at Joe Goode Annex, Project Artaud, 401 Alabama Street, at 17th Street, San Francisco from 7:00 to 9:30 P.M. Admission is $20.00. For more information contact Maryann Karonis.

February 6 - March 13 (Wednesdays): Start of a International folk dance series, taught by Carol Friedman at PE #60 on the Kentfield campus of College of Marin. Februay 7 (Thursdays): Bulgarian Cultural Center Ripni Kalinke is organizing NEW classes for level 1 beginners who want to learn Bulgarian Folk dancing, and for those who just want a refresher! Our choreographer Yulian Yordanov will be teaching beginners every first Thursday of the month starting on February 7th at: 1205 Pine Ave San Jose from 7:00P.M. to 8:00 P.M., followed by regular class from 8:00 P.M. to 10:00 P.M. The prices for attending are: Beginners class only - $5.00, Beginners + Regular Class $15.00 or monthly attendance Regular Classes (every Thursday) is $30.00 and Monthly attendance for both beginners and regular classes is $35.00. February 8 (Friday): Berkeley Balkan Bacchanal with music by Alaturca Connection + Giorgos Frantzeskakis & Giorgos Stratakis at The Starry Plough, 3102 Shattuck Avenue, Berkeley at 9:00 P.M. Admission is $10.00 to $15.00 on a sliding scale at the door.

February 9 (Saturday): Café Shalom meets for Israeli dancing at St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church, 1399 – 43rd Avenue, at Judah, San Francisco from 7:30 to 11:30 P.M.  Admission is $8.00 for adults and $5.00 for students. For more information contact rofromsf@gmail.com.

February 10 (Sunday): 71st Annual Featival of the Oaks, hosted by the Berkeley Folk Dancers, at Live Oak Park, 3101 Shattuck Avenue, at Berryman, Berkeley with an institute by Lee Otterholt from 9:30 A.M. to noon, optional lunch from noon to 1:000 P.M. and dancing from 1:00 to 5:00 P.M. Admission is $14.00 for the institute, $12.00 to the dancing and $24.00 for all day. There will be a Federation meeting from noon to 1:00 P.M. Free refreshments served in the afternoon. February 10 (Sunday): International Folk Dancing and teas from around the world at Garden House, 400 University Avenue, Los Altos from 2:30 to 5:30 P.M. February 10 (Sunday): Central Asian ethnic dance taught by Nancy Rose Aktas and Dr. Gurbuz Aktas at the Vision Dance Center, 375 Saratoga Avenue, Suite B, San Jose with the Usbek Dance class by Nancy Rose Aktas from 11:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. and Azerbaijani Dance with Dr. Gurbuz Aktas from 12:30 to 2:00 P.M. February 18 (Monday): Movable Feet host a Mardi Gras Shuffle Party at St. Bede's Church, 2650 Sand Hill Road, Menlo Park from 6:30 to 10:30 P.M.
