February 1 (Saturday): Dancing the Rhythms of the Seasons, a Sacred Circle Dance Day Retreat at Bishop's Ranch, 5297 Westside Road, Healdsburg from 9:00 A.M. to 5:30 P.M. February 1 (Saturday): Greek Glendi, with music provided by Edessa, at St. Nicholas Community Center, 1260 Davis Street, San Jose with No-host cocktails at 6:00 P.M. and dinner, performance and dancing from 7:00 P.M. February 1 & 2 (Saturday & Sunday): Helene Eriksen' Bay Area Anar Dana Project present a Communal Power of Women's Dance workshop featuring the dance styles of Bulgaria, Turkey, Egypt, Georgia and othe countries at the Hoover Theatre Dance Studio, 1635 Park Avenue, San Jose from 11:00 to 6:00 (with a one hour break). February 7 (Friday): Plovdiv Party Bus, the Bay Area's newest Balkan Band, play for the Stanford Folk Dancers, First Baptist Church, 305 N. February 7 (Friday): Tom and Amelia teach introductory social salsa and Tom Hill and Amelia teache introductory waltz also they will dj waltzes and polkas for the Friday Night Waltz group at All Saints Episcopal Church, 555 Waverly, at Hamilton Avenue, Palo Alto [NOTE NEW LOCATION] from 7:00 P.M. to Midnight. February 9 (Sunday): Croatian Fraternal Union Lodge #1007 "Ivan Nestrovic" presents the annual "Blessin of Throats" after 9:15 A.M. Mass at the Nativity Church Parish Hall, 240 Fell Street, between Gough and Franklin Streets, San Francisco with a complimentary Buffet at 10:30 A.M. and the commememorative program at 11:00 A.M. There will be a sing-along with John Morovich and his Accordion and other entertainment as well as a raffle. Bring a potluck dish or dessert to share. Coffee/tea and Bar. February 9 (Sunday): Festival of the Oaks, with teaching by Loui Tucker, at Live Oak Park Community Center, 1301 Shattuck, at Berryman, Berkeley from 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Admission for the morning institute is $10.00, lunch is $5.00 (attend the membershop meeting and it is free) and afternoon dancing is $10.00 or $18.00 or both the institute and dancing. there will be used folk dance costumes for sale. February !4 (Friday): Berkeley Balkan Bacchanal presents an evening of Klezmer music for listening and dancing featuring Orchestra Euphonos, Saul Goodman's Klezmer Band and Yiddishe Serenaders at the Starry Plough, 3101 Shattuck Avenue, Berkeley with the doors opening at 8:00 P.M. and the music starting at 9:00 P.M. Admission is from $8.00 to $12.00 on a sliding scale.

February 15 & 16 (Saturday & Sunday); Annual Tam Fest at the Croatian American Cultural Center, 60 Onondage, at Alemany, San Francisco starting at 7:30 P.M. on Saturday and going from Noon to 8:00 P.M. Sunday. Music by Zadnja Stanica, Sidro, St. Anthony's Tamburica Orchestra and the Slavonian Traveling Band. Admission is $15.00 for the two days and children are free. February 22 (Saturday); The San Francisco Balalaika Ensemble plays at the 26th annual Russian festival at the San Francisco Russian Center, 2450 Sutter Street, San Francisco with the festival upen from 11:00 A.M. to 10:00 P.M. and their sets at 7:00 P.M. and 9:15 P.M.
