February 1 (Tuesday): Santa Rosa Balkan Folk Dance class taught my Marilyn Smith starts today and runs for 16 weeks at Santa Rosa Junior College, Tanzer Gym, Room 905, Santa Rosa from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. Cost for the entire course is $49.00. It is for intermediate level dancers. For more information, and for registration instructions, contact Marilyn Smith.

February 4 (Friday): Verna Druzhina play Balkan music for dancing for the Stanford International Folk Dancers at the First Baptist Church, 305 North California Avenue, near Bryant, Palo Alto from 8:00 to 11:00 P.M. February 11 (Friday): Artemis Donikian presents a Greek and Armenian dance workshop for the Stanford International Folk Dancers at the First Baptist Church, 305 North California Avenue, near Bryant, Palo Alto from 8:00 to 11:00 P.M. February 12 (Saturday): Bulgarian Valentine's Day party, with music by Kraso and food by Itco, at the Concert Hall, 550 Pilgrim Drive #F, Foster City from 8:00 P.M. to 1:00 A.M. Cover charge is $20.00 and Kids under 18 are free. Dinner, dessert, wine, beer, water and soda will be available. February 13 (Sunday): Cretan Glendi to benefit the Minoan Dancers at the Nativity of Christ Greek Orthodox Church, Fellowship Hall, 1110 Highland Drive, Novato with a no host reception at 5:00 P.M. and a traditional Cretan dinner at 5:30 P.M. There will be live Cretan and Tabahaniotika music directly from Crete. Admission is $35.00 for adults and $15.00 for children 6 to 17 with open seating. February 14 (Monday): Celebrate Valentine's day at at Greek dance party with music provided by Agapi Mou ("my love" in Greek) for GreekFeet at the Presidio Dance Theatre, 1158 Gorgas, at Marshall, Presidio of San Francisco from 7:30 to 10:30 P.M. February 25 (Friday): There will be no dancing at the Albany YMCA today.

February 26 (Saturday): Folk Dance party, presented by Marcel Vinokur, at Burgess Sports Center, 501 Laurel Street, at Mielke, Menlo Park from 8:00 P.M. to 12:00 A.M. Admission is $9.00 for adults and $3.00 for teens. For more information call Kathy Vinokur at (650) 327-0759.

February 26 (Saturday): Festival of the Oaks with French and Balkan dances taught by Marilyn Smith at Live Oak Park Community Center, 1301 Shattuck Avenue, at Berryman, Berkeley with registratin at 9:00 A.M., the institute from 9:30 A.M. to Noon, lunch from Noon to 1:30 P.M. and dancing from 1:30 to 5:00 P.M. Admission to the institute is $7.00, lunch is $5.00 and dancing in the afternoon is $7.00. There also will be a membership meeting during lunch for members of the Folk Dance Federation (lunch will be free for those attending), and a used Folk Dance costume sale (bring items to donate and consignment items are accepted). Free refreshments will be served frm 1:30 to 5:00 P.M.

February 26 (Saturday): Israeli Folk Dance Party at Cafe Shalom, St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, Bowcock Hall, 1399 - 43rd Avenue, at Judah, San Francisco from 7:30 to 11:30 P.M. Admission is $8.00 for adults and $5.00 for students. For more information contact Rosanna Horton.

February 26 (Saturday): Bulgarian, Macedonian, Greek, Armenian and Turkish dance party and dinner with Turlu providing the music at Afendi's Turkish Grill, 299 North McDowell Boulevard, Petaluma with music from 7:00 to 8:00 P.M. and from 8:30 to 9:30+ P.M. Cover charge is $5.00 plus tips for the musicians. Come early and order dinner. Reservations are advised.
