December 1 (Saturday): Razzmatazz hosts their annual Christmas Folk Dance Party, with live music by Gradina, at Monroe Hall 1400 West College Avenue, Santa Rosa from 7:00 to 10:00 P.M. Admission is $5.00 plus tips for the musicians and singers. Children are free and welcome. For more information contact Marilyn Smith.

December 1 (Saturday): Center for Jewish Peoplehood host a Giant Holiday Balkan Brass Extravaganza, with music by Inspector Gadje, at Osher Marin JCC Kanbar Center for the Performing Arts, 200 N. San Pedro Road, San Rafael from 7:30 to 10:30 P.M. Admission is $23.00 for members, $30.00 for the public and kids 17 and under are $10.00.

December 1 (Saturday): Orchestra Euphonos play Eastern European and Klezmer music for listening and dancing at Place for Sustainable Living, 1121 - 64th Street, Oakland from 8:00 to 11:55 P.M.

December 1 (Saturday): Palomanian's Annual Dancing and Pie Party at St. Bede's Church Hall, 2650 Sand Hill Road, Menlo Park from 7:30 to 10:30 P.M. Admission is $9.00. For more information, and to send in your requests, contact Denise Heenan.

December 2 (Sunday): Baymele and Duo Moldova play Romanian and Klezmer music for listening and dancing at 333 Raymundo Drive, Woodside at 3:00 P.M. Admission is $20.00.

December 8 (Saturday): Café Shalom meets for Israeli dancing at St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church, 1399 – 43rd Avenue, at Judah, San Francisco from 7:30 to 11:30 P.M.  Admission is $8.00 for adults and $5.00 for students. For more information contact rofromsf@gmail.com.

December 8 (Saturday): Second Harvest Food Bank Fundraiser at First Baptist Church, 305 North California Avenue, Palo Alto with potluck reception from 3:00 to 4:00 P.M., and a dance party until 7:30 P.M. December 8 (Saturday): Saul Goodman's Klezmer Band plays Klezmer music for listening and dancing at Saul's Deli's latke street party, 1425 Shattuck Avenue, Berkeley form Noon to 2:00 P.M. For more information contact Mike Perlmutter.

December 9 (Saturday): Ban Cantrell group plays Balkan bras band music for listening and dancing at Saul's Deli's latke street party, 1425 Shattuck Avenue, Berkeley form Noon to 2:00 P.M.

December 9 (Sunday): Balkan Sundays featuring Andrew Cohen, Joey Friedman, Travis Hendrix and Ivan Valev at The Revolution Cafe in San Francisco.

December 10 (Monday): Petaluma Holiday Folk Dance Party, with live music by Peter Bonos and Friends, at Hermann Sons Hall, 860 Western Avenue, Petaluma at 7:00 P.M.

December 14 (Friday): Formal Ball with live music by Bangers and Mash at First United Methodist Church, upstairs, Fellowship Hall, 625 Hamilton Avenue, Palo Alto with the classes starting at 7:15 P.M. and the dancing is from 9:00 P.M. to Midnight. Admission is $12.00 for both classes and the dance, $10.00 for the dance only and $10.00 for students. No partner necessary. All ages welcome. December 14 (Friday): Stanford Folk Dancers host a Balkan dance party with music by Okestar Copa-a-cabana at All Saints' Episcopal Church,555 Waverly Street, Palo Alto from 7:30 to 10:00 P.M. Admission is $12.00 general and $6.00 for students. Snacks and drinks plus tips for the musicians are welcome. For more information call Owen at (650) 966-1775.

December 15 (Saturday): Aaron Alpert presents an Israeli Dance Workshop, "Nirkoda Im Ohad", by master teacher from Israel, Ohad Atia at Congregation Etz Chayim, 4161 Alma Street, Palo Alto. The workshop will be from 3:30 to 6:30 P.M., followed by a dinner break on your own, and a dance party from 8:30 P.M. to Midnight. December 16 (Sunday): Israeli Oldies Folk Dance Party, with dances led by Allen King at Ashkenaz, 1317 San Pablo Avenue, Berkeley at 1:30 P.M. Admission is $10.00 and under 18 are free. For more information contact Allen King.

December 16 (Sunday): Balkan Sundays, featuring music by Gregory Jenkins, Max Miller-Loran, Andrew Cohen and Ivan Velev, at Revolution Cafe, San Francisco from 8:30 to 11:30 P.M.

December 17 (Monday): GreekFeet Year-End Party with Greek Music and Dancing at Il Pirata, 2007 - 16 Street, San Francisco with a Social Hour with no-host bar and appetizers from 7:00 to 8:00 P.M. and 8:00 to when the band stops live music with Greg Jenkins, Dan Cantrell and Michael Garibaldi. December 19 (Wednesday): David Nadel Memorial with dancing to Balkan music at Ashkenaz, 1317 San Pablo Avenue, Berkeley from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. Admission is by donation.

December 22 (Saturday): Janam Band plays Balkan and Appalachian music at Fifth Street Farms, 1517 Fifth Street, Berkeley at 7:30 P.M. Admission is $20.00 cash at the door. All proceeds go to the musicians. You are welcome to bring food and drinks to share. Reservations are highly recommended. For more information, contact Juliana Graffagna.

December 25 (Tuesday): Peninsula Folk Dance Council host the 10th Annual Christmas Night All-request Folk Dance Party emcee'd by Adony and Becky Beniares at Garden House, 400 University Avenue, Palo Alto from 7:00 to 10:00 P.M. December 31 (Monday): New Year's Eve Folk Dance Party at All Saint's Episcopal Church, 555 Waverly Street, Palo Alto from 6:30 A.M. to 12:30 A.M. For more information and to send in requests, contact Lucy Chang.

December 31 (Monday): Inspector Gadje Balkan Brass Band to play at a New Year's Eve party at the Starline Social Club, 2236 Martin Luther King Jr. Way, Oakland at 9:00 P.M.

December 31 (Monday): Sacred Circle Dance New Year's Eve party at Hillside Church, 1422 Navellier Street, El Cerrito from 8:00 P.M. until Midnight. Admission is $10.00. Snacks requested.

December 31 (Sunday): New Year's Eve Balkan and Beyond Bash, with music by Edessa, and Dromeno and True Life Trio at Ashkenaz, 1317 San Pablo Avenue, at Gilman, Berkeley from 8:00 P.M. to 3:00 A.M. Admission is $25.00.
