December 5 (Thursday): The Slavic a cappella group, Nightingale Trio, sing at the Red Poppy Art House, 2698 Folsom Street, at 23rd Street, San Francisco at 7:30 P.M. They play a lot of Slavic dance songs. This is a ticketed event. For more information contact Nila.

December 6 (Friday): The Slavic a cappella group, Nightingale Trio, sing at the Rose Street House of Music, 1839 Rose Street, near MLK, Berkeley at 8:00 P.M. They play a lot of Slavic dance songs. This is a benefit concert! Donations accepted for homeless children and families. For more information contact Nila.

December 6 (Friday): Galbendo Band with Joe Kirin play Roma music for singing, dancing and listening at the Croatian American Cultural Center, 60 Onondaga, at Alemany, San Francisco at 8:00 P.M.

December 6 (Friday): Mosaic Band will be playing for the Stanford Folk Dancers at First Baptist Church, 305 North California Avenue, Palo Alto from 8:00 to 11:00 P.M. Admission is $10.00 and $5.00 for students. For more information call Owen at (650) 966-1775.

December 6 (Friday): Nick teaches introductory cross-step waltz and rotary waltz and Nick teaches introductory waltz also Richatd Page will dj waltzes and polkas for the Friday Night Waltz group at All Saints Episcopal Church, 555 Waverly, at Hamilton Avenue, Palo Alto [NOTE NEW LOCATION] from 7:00 P.M. to Midnight. Admission is $12.00 for both classes and the dance, $8.00 for the dance only and $8.00 for students. No partner necessary. All ages welcome. December 12 (Thursday): Hungry for Yiddish: A mitzvah Project at Subterranean Arthouse, 2179 Bancroft way, Berkeley with Safra at 8:00 P.M., Yiddish song with heather Klein's Inextinguishable Trio at 8:30 P.M. and a klezmer dance party, with music by Saul Goodman's Klezmer band at 9:00 P.M. Admission is $10.00 to $20.00 and the proceeds benefit Berkeley Food Pantry. For more information contact Michael Perlmutter.

December 13 (Friday): Both Stanford Folk Dancers and Albany Y Folk Dancers CLOSED today.

December 14 (Saturday): Annual Razzmatazz Christmas folk dance party with dancing to recorded music and to live music provided by Barbara Babin, Jim Avera, Ken Genetti, and Galen Genetti and a visit by Santa Claus at Monrow Hall, 1400 W. December 31 (Tuesday): New Year's Eve folk dance party, in the tradition of Marcel Vinokur, at Barrett Community Center, 1835 Belburn Drive, Belmont with a potluck dinner at 7:00 P.M. followed by dancing until 12:15 A.M. to recorded music MCed by Loui ant Lucy. Marcel and Kathy Vinokur will be attending as honored guests. Live music is a possibility. Admission is $10.00 and bring a dish to share. December 31 (Tuesday): Twelveth annual New Years's Eve Waltz Ball brought to you by the Friday Night Waltz group with live music provided by Bangers and Mash, at the International House at U. C. Berkeley, 2299 Piedmont Avenue, Berkeley with the doors opening at 6:30 P.M. and an introductory Waltz class by Tom Hill from 7;00 to 8:30 P.M. and dancing from 9:00 P.M. until 12:30 A.M. Admission is $20.00 in advance (use website above), $25.00 at the door and $15.00 for students under 26 with student identification.
