August 1 (Saturday):  Agapi Mou will perform music from Greece, Albania, Turkey and Rom at the Music Flea Market, 20th Street and Florida, San Francisco at Noon. Admission is free, 

August 2 (Sunday): The Bay Area Bulgarian community will be having their annual picnic dance festival at the Redwood Grove above St. Mary’s College in Moraga.  Nestinari will be playing with Rumyana singing Bulgarian songs and Nikko singing Greek songs.  All people in the American Balkan scene are welcome.  For more information call Ivan Kabaivanov at (925) 360-6840

August 6 (Thursday):  The Mandala Folk Dance center will be closed this week only for floor refinishing.  They will reopen next week.

August 21 (Friday): Klezbalkers play Klezmer and Balkan music, Nattergal play Scandinavian music, Barbara Babin and friends play Eastern European music, Sviraci play Bulgarian/Macedonian music and the Irish/Contra band play music for dancing for the Stanford Folk Dancers at Flex-it Aerobic Studio, 425 W. Evelyn Avenue, Mountain View from 8:00 to 11:00 P.M.  Admission is $3.00 for students, $6.00 regular and under 12 are free.  Bring food to share and tips for the bands.

August 23 (Sunday): Klezbalkers play Klezmer and Balkan music for listening and dancing (bring an instrument and jam if you wish) at Fandango Pizza, 3163 Middlefield Road, Palo Alto at 5:00 P.M.  For more information contact Shannon at theSquedler@gmail.com .

August 28 (Friday): Changs presents a Caribbean party with Dance Kaiso and live drummers leading the festivities at Lincoln Park Presbyterian Church’s social hall, 31st Avenue, at Clement, San Francisco starting at 7:30 P.M. for families with children and at 8:30 P.M. for adults.  There is a $10.00 fee for adult individuals and for families with children.
