August 3 (Friday): Stanford Folk Dancers host an Israeli/Klezmer dance party with music byMajorly Minor and Led by Donna Frankel at Bethany Lutheran Church, 1095 Cloud Avenue, one block North of Alameda de las Pulgas, at Avy Avenue, Menlo Park from 7:30 to 10:00 P.M. Admission is $12.00 general and $6.00 for students. Snacks and drinks plus tips for the musicians are welcome. For more information call Owen at (650) 966-1775.

August 3 (Friday): Peggy Pollard will teach the Surfer Stomp and other 1960's solo and partner dances and Michael Wintermeyer and Vincent Sheu will DJ waltz and polka dancing at First United Methodist Church, upstairs, Fellowship Hall, 625 Hamilton Avenue, Palo Alto with the classes starting at 7:15 P.M. and the dancing is from 9:00 P.M. to Midnight. Admission is $12.00 for both classes and the dance, $10.00 for the dance only and $10.00 for students. No partner necessary. All ages welcome. August 4 (Saturday): Peninsula Folk Dance Council Party with Adony and Ellie teaching Sonia and Cristian's Batuta de la Costesti and Lon and Hollis teaching Mari Kirz, at Turkish dance brom Caspat Bik at St. Bede's Church, 2650 Sand Hill Road, Menlo Park with the workshop from 7:15 ti 8:00 P.M. and all-request dancing, hosted by Ken Kaye and Adony Beniares from 8:00 to 10:30 P.M. August 10 (Friday): Stanford Folk Dancers host dance workshop by Katherine Abbott teaching International dances at All Saints Episcopal church, 555 Waverly Street, Palo Alto from 7:30 to 10:00 P.M. August 10 (Friday): Berkeley Balkan Bacchanal with music by Dan Cantrell and Book of J at The Starry Plough, 3102 Shattuck Avenue, Berkeley at 9:00 P.M. Admission is $10.00 to $15.00 on a sliding scale at the door.
