August 4 (Friday): Joan Walton and Kimber Rudo reach four mixers for progressive dances and how to dance like Fred and Ginger and Lucas Garron will DJ waltz and polka dancing at First United Methodist Church, upstairs, Fellowship Hall, 625 Hamilton Avenue, Palo Alto from 9:00 P.M. to Midnight. Admission is $12.00 for both classes and the dance, $8.00 for the dance only and $8.00 for students. No partner necessary. All ages welcome. August 4 (Friday): The Stanford International Folk Dancers host a Klezmer and Israeli Dance event with a workshop taught by Donna Frankel music by Majority Minor at the First Baptist Church, 305 N. August 5 (Saturday): Peninsula Council Folk Dance Party at St. Bede's Church Hall, 2650 Sand Hill Road, Menlo Park with a pre-party workshop reviewing Sonia and Cristan's Romanian dances taught at Stockton from 7:15 to 8:00 P.M. and the all-request party from 8:00 to 10:45 P.M. Admission iBecause First Baptist Church is no longer available, Stanford Folk Dancers will be meeting this Friday, August 11th, at Bethany Lutheran Church, 1095 Cloud Avenue, Menlo Park.s $9.00. August 11 (Friday): Berkeley Balkan Bacchanal with music by The Debaucherauntes, Disciples of Markos and Aya and Tano at The Starry Plough, 3102 Shattuck Avenue, Berkeley at 9:00 P.M. Admission is $10.00 to $20.00 on a sliding scale at the door.

August 11 (Friday): Stanford International Folk Dancers will meet at a new venue, Bethany Lutheran Church, 1095 Cloud Avenue, Menlo Park from 7:30 to 10:00 P.M. Kevin Greek will be teaching.

August 11 (Friday): Nick and Melissa teach Country Two Step and New Easy-Going Rotary Waltz Variations and Melissa Rosano will DJ waltz and polka dancing at First United Methodist Church, upstairs, Fellowship Hall, 625 Hamilton Avenue, Palo Alto from 9:00 P.M. to Midnight. Admission is $12.00 for both classes and the dance, $8.00 for the dance only and $8.00 for students. No partner necessary. All ages welcome.
