April 1 (Friday): Istanbul Connection plays music for listening and dancing at The Legionnaire Saloon, Oakland at 8:00 P.M.

April 1 (Friday): Richard Powers and Angela Amarillas teach Mambo Rock Line Dance, Charleston Rag and Chaos Break and Bugg Rueda, and possibly tango Tom Hill will teach Introductory Waltz also, Richard Powers will DJ Waltzes and Polkas in addition to Danse Libre performing for the Friday Night Waltz group at First United Methodist Church, upstairs, Fellowship Hall, 625 Hamilton Avenue, Palo Alto from 7:00 P.M. to Midnight. Admission is $12.00 for both classes and the dance, $8.00 for the dance only and $8.00 for students. No partner necessary. All ages welcome. April 8 (Friday): Zabava! play Balkan music for the Kopachka Folk Dancers at Strawberry Recreation Center, 118 East Strawberry Drive, Mill Valley from 8:00 to 11:00 P.M. Admission is $10.00. For more information contact Nadav Nur.

April 8 (Friday): Bulgarian Dance workshop taught by Gergana Panova-Tekath, hosted by the Stanford International Dancers, at the First Baptist Church, 305 North California Street, Palo Alto from 8:00 to 11:00 P.M. Admission is $15.00.

April 8 (Friday): Berkeley Balkan Bacchanal with music by MWE and Edessa at The Starry Plough, 3102 Shattuck Avenue, Berkeley at 9:00 P.M. Admission is $10.00 to $15.00 on a sliding scale at the door.

April 9 (Saturday): Peninsula Folk Dance Council April dance party at St. Bede's Episcopal Church, 2650 Sand Hill Road, Menlo Park with a free pre-party workshop with Joe Croco and Laura Douglas teaching Ciganko, Schottische D'Avergne and perhaps Cross-Setp Waltz 7:17 to 8:00 P.M. and the all-request party MC'd by Becky Beniares and Nacy Kaye from 8:00 to 10:45 P.M. April 19 (Tuesday): A night of Hungarian and Romanian music with Vadalma and La Peche providing the music for listening and dancing at Studio Grand, 3234 Grand Avenue, Oakland with delicions Eastern European treats at 9:00 P.M. and the music is from 9:30 to 11:00 P.M. April 20 (Wednesday): Folk Dance with live music by Da! Mozhem at the Hillside Club, 2286 Cedar Street, Berkeley from 7:00 to 10:00 P.M. Admission is $10.00 and club members and children are free. April 30 (Saturday): Esma and ensemble Folk Masters perform Romani and Macedonian music and Sani Rifani teach Romani dances at the Herdeljezi Festival at First Congregational Church of Oakland,(United Church of Christ), 2501 Harrison Street in Oakland at 5:00 P.M. Cost for the workshop with Esma and her band is $30.00 and admission for the concert/dance is $27.00 in advance and $30.00 at the door with kids under 12 free.

April 30 (Saturday): Fanfare Zambaleta perform at the Alameda Whimy Fest at Alameda Point. Dancers wanted. This event is free.
